Barn restoration receives recent press coverage

We are pleased to announce some recent media coverage for the new Center for the Visual and Performing Arts Center at Lauralton Hall. In an article titled “Lauralton Receives Grant to Restore 1864 Barn,” The Milford-Orange Bulletin, an edition of the New Haven Register, covered Lauralton Hall’s Edward E. Ford Foundation grant as well as plans for the barn restoration. It also highlighted that Lauralton will still need to raise at least $150,000 by July 1, 2014, from private donations to complete the exterior restoration work.

“Hundreds of supporters signed a petition in favor of this restoration,” The Bulletin article reported. “Lauralton Hall has the strong support of many city officials, state representatives and local organizations such as the Milford Preservation Trust. Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro ’60 states, "I know from personal experience how special the grounds are at Lauralton Hall because I attended as a young woman. Lauralton Hall serves many in the community and this structure (the barn) will only enhance the environment in which students can learn and grow.”
