Winter Sports Pep Rally encourages school spirit

Lauralton’s annual Winter Sports Pep Rally was held in the athletic center in early January, offering lots of fun and support for our winter teams while demonstrating how Lauralton Hall women compete with their bodies and their minds! Student Council Officers Kiernan Black, '14; Ashley Evans, '16; Maggie Salandra, '15; and Jess Vanam, '15 provided a warm welcome and introduced the winter sports teams, along with Lauralton’s new Debate Club which has been participating in competitions all year!

First to fire up the pep rally were the Lauralton Cheerleaders who gave a rousing routine complete with fliers! Next, Ski Team members swished onto the floor in full ski attire. The Debate Club introduced a mind-bending endeavor in which they develop their critical thinking and public speaking skills to debate controversial issues; club members urged the crowd to support them in their upcoming competitions. The enthusiastic Indoor Track Team, Hockey Team and the Basketball Team followed. To keep the crowd cheering, Student Council officers pulled random students and math teacher Jill Waldron out of the audience for a rousing game of basketball. The pep rally concluded with one final Y-E-L-L Cheer from the student body, with the message that students should come support all of Lauralton’s teams and cheer the school on toward a winning season!
