Top reasons to attend Lauralton

Reason Number 6: Mercy Core Values

What’s our pick for the sixth reason to attend Lauralton Hall? Mercy Core Values—they are key at our institution:

Compassion and Service
Educational Excellence
Concern for Women and Women’s Issues
Global Vision and Responsibility
Spiritual Growth and Development
Collaboration

Lauralton Hall’s vigorous academic program challenges students to become informed, bold, resourceful and ethical global citizens. It’s not just about learning what the problems of the world are – it’s about teaching students how they can become a part of the solution, whatever that may be.  Recently, Lauralton Hall students have:

  • built bridges and a community center in Guyana
  • traveled to Guatemala to build a school, help farm and teach English
  • put together Thanksgiving baskets for low-income families right here in Connecticut
  • raised funds to support more than 100 charities such as the Red Cross, Mercy Beyond Borders, Make-a-Wish foundation and more

We celebrate intellectual curiosity, collaboration, global awareness, community, spiritual development and commitment to service. The Lauralton Hall culture is one in which a girl’s achievements – what she believes and how she puts those beliefs into action – are more important than what she wears, or how she looks.  The celebration and implementation of Mercy Core Values distinguish our graduates, and make a Lauralton Hall education last for a lifetime.
